Etymology
Coined by the American novelist and film producer Stephenie Meyer as the name of Renesmee Cullen (a character in her novel Breaking Dawn (2008), the fourth in the Twilight series, who also appeared in The Twilight Saga, a film series based on the novels). She is given this name by her mother (Bella Swan) as a blend of Renée + Esme, the names of Renée Dwyer (Bella Swan’s mother) and Esme Cullen (her father’s adoptive mother).
